Goodbye to all that–
to middle-class values
and middle-class guilt,
to middle-class organizing
and middle-class base.

Goodbye to false leaders,
on ego trips,
irresponsible
close to nothing but
their feelings of power.

Goodbye to this
when this means
what it shouldn’t.

Hello to my people
and the truth,
as I struggle
to discover both.
